Natural Turf Sports Water & Air Management
By incorporating a Formavoid raft to the base of natural grass construction build ups, a void blanket is created across the entire area for high performance drainage, rainwater harvesting and air management.
System Characteristics
A.
High Performance Consistent Drainage
The Formavoid raft has drastically increased capacity & perforated surface area in comparison to perforated pipe. Factory formed and installed as a raft, the Formavoid provides ultimate consistency and uniformity.
Installed entirely above formation, there are no trenching works required.

Rainwater Attenuation & Harvesting
Encapsulated in a sealed Formaliner membrane, the raft provides up to 70mm water storage across the pitch area, which typically provides 525,000litres capacity!
The volume can be managed to simultaneously provide stormwater attenuation volume for a restricted discharge, and vast rainwater harvesting capacity.

Rainwater Reuse for Irrigation
Harvested rainwater can be used to supply the irrigation system directly from the raft and therefore reducing mains water usage.
Water levels are managed by a remotely operated valve and level sensors. Water quality can be monitored by inbuilt sensors.

Uniform Subsurface Air System
The void space beneath the Formavoid arches provides an ideal low resistance air blanket for pressure and vaccum ventilation.
Extensive independent studies have proven the efficiency of air flow to permit the use of modest sized fans, whilst providing unmatched uniformity of air flow and pressure distribution.
The unique arrangement of the system allows both pressure and vacuum modes to be operated without sending water to drain at high velocity. During vacuum mode, any excess water is captured in the Formavoid raft and does not enter the reduced diameter air supply pipes.
